The Use of Restrictive Practices in Approved Centres: Activity Report 2019
Report on the use of restrictive practices in approved centres during 2019.
This is the Commission’s tenth report on the use of seclusion, mechanical means of bodily restraint and physical restraint in approved mental health centres in Ireland. The review is part of MHCs role to ensure that restrictive interventions are only used where strictly necessary, and that any interventions are undertaken safely, and in line with specified Rules and Codes of Practice. This report provides information on the use of restrictive practices, the services using them, the people affected, and the quality and safety of the interventions for the year 2019.
