MHC Funded External Research
The publication of the Mental Health Commission Research Strategy in March 2005 laid out the actions to be taken by the Mental Health Commission in progressing mental health research, in particular services research, in Ireland.
The Mental Health Commission views mental health services research as being centrally important to the development of high quality mental health services. Building capacity for mental health services research is one of the four action plans outlined in the strategy.
The Mental Health Commission is committed to commissioning research on the themes directly related to the statutory mandate of the Mental Health Commission. These are: research on quality in mental health services and the impact of the provisions of the Mental Health Act 2001.
